
The Annie Reed Quintet is performing in the Cafeteria. Annie Reed is a SVC Medical Assisting student who also works as a student event programmer for Skagit Valley College. Come and enjoy the music while you eat on Tuesday, February 9.
Annie, a contralto vocalist, lyric writer and performer, sings vocal jazz/blues, R & B, swing and be-bop scats as well as original melodies. She carries a four-octave range with an unending lushness in quality, singing notes and phrases that leave you on the edge of your seat.
Originally from Edmonds, Annie studied piano and voice at a very young age. She began singing at the age of two in the church and has continued for 34 years.
Annie has worked with many artists, including Ernestine Anderson, Matt Catingub, Don Shelton, Paul Tillotson (Gene Harris' protegé), Mark Miller, Cathy Feller and Lee Halderson. She is also a member of the Seattle Jazz Singers.
