Mount Vernon Campus - Children of the Revolution - May 23

Come and learn some Latino Dance and Guitar from the Children of the Revolution!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4SYFi4Q4G8Date: 5/23 (Fri)Time & location: Workshops - 2:30 - 3:45pm @ Multipurpose Room & cafeteria Concert - 7pm @ Phillip Tarro Theatre

The concert would last about an hour and the workshops are all 90 minutes and are as follows:
Beginners Salsa Dance with Vassili: Learn the basics of salsa partnership, footwork, and timing/rhythm. Starting from the ground up, this will teach you all the necessary fundamentals to get you dancing.

Beginners Flamenco Dance with Encarnación: An introduction to different flamenco styles, practice with palmas (clapping) zapateo (taping) or marcajes (body movements to mark the rhythm) . Learn in detail flamenco postures and move different parts of your body separately: hands, arms, torso, hips and footwork.

Beginners Flamenco guitar workshop with Eric Jaeger:Requirements: Acoustic guitar, nylon string preferred but not necessary. Some knowledge and ability to play open chords and bar chords.Eric will introduce guitarists to a short history of flamenco guitar and it's roots, flamenco technique and posture, and various exercises and rhythms. Students will receive individual attention.
