Mount Vernon Campus - International Week - March 9 to March 13

Learn what individuals are doing to make a difference globally through relief, development and advocacy work around the globe with disadvantaged populations, and how those of us who would like to join in these efforts can get involved.

Monday:
  • Student Ceramics Sale - Fundraiser for Potters for Peace
  • 12-2 pm - Opening Ceremony, Panel & Reception—Speaker: Eileen Conoboy, Peace Corps
  • 6 pm - “Understanding Islam”—Speaker: Hamza Chaudhry,Campus Center Multi-Purpose Room

Tuesday:

  • 10-2 pm - Global Service Fair
  • 7 pm - “A World of Possibilities: Breakdown to Breakthrough“Speaker: Jim Bergquist, McIntyre Hall

Wednesday:

  • 12:30-1:30 pm - Global Travel Opportunities with SVC
  • 5-7:30 pm - “Loteria” — Mexican Bingo, $10 admission,$5 for students w/ID

Thursday:

  • 12:30-1:30 pm - Global Health Care Panel
  • 7:30 pm - “From Sea to Shining Sea: Music fromAfrica to Asia”SVC Choirs with guest artists Juba Marimba, McIntyre Hall ($15 gen., $10 seniors and students)

Friday:

5:00 - 7:30 p.m. - International Dinnerat McIntyre Hall Social Hour 5:00 pm, Dinner 5:45 pm Keynote Speaker: Wanambisi E. Wesakania($25 Gen / $15 SVC Student)
